Well, I guess you can tell that I'm not much of a techy. Much more comfortable in the garden. However, what a waste to have this website here and not make any use of it. Besides, lots has happened in the garden in the or so. We've had many interesting and very helpful wwoofers share our home for a time. I'm ever grateful for the talents they bring and share with us. I'm going to add an album or two on the facebook page to show some of what has been achieved with their help. We've had a growing season with our first hugelkultur bed. It was made by piling up logs, branches and twiggy material. We then stuffed compost in the spaces, replaced the turf upside down and covered it with the topsoil which had previously been dug out. All was topped with a good layer of woodchip and then it was planted with a variety of vegetable, fruit and herb plants. It performed better than I expected for a first season and, despite the long dry spell, it only needed watering twice and has produced an ongoing harvest. Well, that was just one of many projects...the photos will tell more than me rambling on.
